To Luxor and Back

We flew down to Luxor 3 days ago, and saw some of the most striking Egyptian ruins I have ever seen! Yeah, the pyrimids were cool, but in Luxor they have the temple of Karnak, also known as the City of Thebes, for those who are familiar with the mummy movies. Actually, the city in the movie looks exactly like the ruins, they did a good job! But here the hyrogliphics and stonecutting is amazing!! It must have taken great masters to create such awesome art! We also went to the valley of the kings, which was very also very cool, with amazingly preserved art! I touched Hores, and got barked at. Hey, they didnt have ANY no touching signs. Its difficult to tell you just how incredable these things were to me, perhaps if I were in person I could give you an animated account. Blogging just makes me seem non-chelont about it, which I am not! I also swam in the Nile, and it felt like no other water! Cold at first, but as soon as you fully immures yourself in the water you completely adapte to the temperature! ACtually I swam in the Nile 3 times, the last time I jumped off a boat we were sailing around in as a group. Egyptians believe that those who drink from the Nile will one day return to Egypt, so I did that too... I still feel perfectly healthy, and, inshaallah, I won't get sick at all! I'm getting to know my fellow students very well, and we have a good time together. The Khaters daughters, Lauren and Mika, actually want to be adopted into the Scadden family, so what does my family think about that? I told them they would be atleast welcome to our wonderful meals! I could use some good home cooking right about now.... Anyway, classes start tomorrow, hopefully they will not be too difficult and I will learn alot from them. Theres so much more to tell! This place is so exciting!!!! But there just isn't enough time... I'll start trying to figure out how to post some pictures soon, I am afraid to try because of how slow this internet is, but I am taking many!!! I hope everyone back home is well and safe. Is Sarah engaged? Tell me if she is. Farewell everyone!!

I can't believe you swam in the Nile! That is so awesome! You so totally rock Dude!

As far as Sarah being engaged, it seems it's my turn to be the last to know anything. I hadn't even heard of the possibility until yesterday. That's what happens when you move away, I guess!

Be safe, I love you!
